Dr. Jenelle Kim Featured on FOXBusiness: Make Her Popular DIY Hand Sanitizer

With the rise of Coronavirus, it’s more important than ever to wash your hands. But sometimes, washing your hands isn’t an option so having a good hand sanitizer with you at all times is key.

Whether your local drugstore is out of hand sanitizer or you just want to make a more natural version, making your own hand sanitizer is a valuable option. Recently, JBK Wellness Labs Founder and Lead Formulator Jenelle Kim shared her favorite DIY hand sanitizer formulation with FOX Business. Check out the entire article here!

Kim suggests adding:

  • ⅔ rubbing alcohol
  • ⅓ aloe vera gel
  • 5 drops of your favorite essential oil
  • Distilled water

Since alcohol can be drying to the skin, it is important to balance out its effect with hydrating ingredients, according to Dr. Kim. Aloe vera gel and Vitamin E oil are “nourishing, moisturizing and healing,” but if you want a less runny consistency like traditional hand sanitizers, it’s better to opt for the gel. Liquid formulas are easier to use when they are placed in a spray bottle, Dr. Kim notes.

Dr. Kim also shares the best way to store your DIY hand sanitizer and some considerations for sensitive skin.
